Actress Jessie Cave Claims She Was Banned From Fans Convention Over OnlyFans

Harry Potter actress Jessie Cave has revealed that she was turned away from a fan convention because of her OnlyFans account, even though her content is not explicit.

The 38-year-old actress, best known for playing Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter films, explained that she uses the platform to share niche hair-related content rather than nudity.

She stressed that her page focuses on celebrating her famously long blonde hair, but organizers told her she was barred because OnlyFans is “affiliated with porn.”

Speaking on her Substack, Jessie Cave said: “I found out that I didn’t get booked for a ‘Harry Potter’ convention recently, as I’m now doing OnlyFans.

“They explained it was because it’s a ‘family show and OnlyFans is affiliated with porn.’ This was baffling to me, as some actors who do conventions (most actors, actually) have done TV and films in which they’ve done sex scenes and nudity. I’m just playing with my hair!”

Cave launched her OnlyFans in March, describing herself as a “Long Hair Specialist.”

On the platform, she shares quirky hair-related videos and photos, sometimes in her underwear, but makes it clear that she will not post explicit content.

She admitted that she started the account both to fund home repairs and to support her writing projects, calling the move “liberating” after years of playing safe, “prim” roles.

“I do get lots of interest in the hair thing, and I just thought, f-ck it, I’m gonna do something that is very niche,” she said. “I know it’s niche, but it’s been really cool to do. It’s been quite liberating.”

“I really am choosing to think of this as an empowering moment for me, because I have been this very kind of straight, prim actress for a lot of my career,” she said.

The actress continued, “And this is very much a way of me saying, ‘OK, I’m doing something that is not normal. This is weird and me and a bit kinky, and why not?”

Despite this, the actress confessed that running her page hasn’t been easy. She has faced declining subscriber numbers and constant requests for explicit material, which she refuses to do.

“It’s gotten a little nasty. I feel a little gross, a little scared,” she said in a Substack post. “I am receiving too many lurid messages and don’t like being sent unsolicited d-cks.

“No matter how many times I say I am not doing sexual content, I get a message within two seconds asking to see c-m in my hair or if I would just please f-cking consider full-frontal.”

Reflecting on her decision, Cave said she views OnlyFans as an experiment—both financially and personally. She revealed her goal was to use the income to pay off debt, fix her home, and gain more independence.

“One year. I’ll try for one year,” Cave wrote. “My aim? To get the house safe, cover the arsenic/lead wallpaper, build a new roof, etc. My aim? To get out of debt.”

The actress added, “My aim? To empower myself? To prove to those in the past who have misjudged me that I’m not so sweet? To put time into something I never invested in before: self-love.”

Jessie Cave also made it clear that she is not too worried about missing out on Harry Potter conventions after more than 15 years of attending them.

“I am not upset about the prospect of no more ‘Harry Potter’ conventions,” she wrote. “There’s going to be a new cast now, and it’s a different time. Plus, I have done conventions for over 15 years and have enough photos and wizard memorabilia.”
