Cristiano Ronaldo Hints At Al-Nassr Exit Amid Club World Cup Speculation

Cristiano Ronaldo may be on his way out of Al-Nassr after sharing a mysterious message on social media.
The 40-year-old forward, who signed with the Saudi Arabian club in January 2023, will see his contract expire next month.
Ronaldo recently hit a personal milestone, scoring his 800th career club goal during Al-Nassr’s final Saudi Pro League game — a 3-2 loss to Al-Fateh. The team ended the season in third place.
After the match, Cristiano Ronaldo posted on X: “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”
The cryptic message sparked fresh rumors about his future and raised questions about whether he could feature in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
Could Cristiano Ronaldo Play at the Club World Cup?
Although Al-Nassr didn’t qualify for this year’s Club World Cup, FIFA president Gianni Infantino recently suggested that Ronaldo could still take part.
Speaking with popular streamer IShowSpeed, Infantino teased the possibility: “Ronaldo might play for one of the teams as well at the Club World Cup.
“There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup… who knows, who knows?”
This summer’s tournament will take place in the United States and marks the first time the Club World Cup will use its expanded 32-team format.
Despite the hype, tickets are still widely available — even for big matchups like Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami vs. Al-Ahly in the opener.

Which Club Could Cristiano Ronaldo Join?
Given Ronaldo’s high salary demands, only a handful of clubs worldwide could realistically afford him. His deal with Al-Nassr reportedly earned him £177 million per year, making him the highest-paid footballer in history.
Still, there’s talk that Ronaldo may consider a short-term move just for the Club World Cup.
Spanish outlet Marca recently reported that a Brazilian club has made an offer for Ronaldo. One possible destination is Botafogo, one of four Brazilian teams in the tournament.
When asked about the rumors, Botafogo manager Renato Paiva said: “Christmas is only in December. But if he came, you can’t say no to a star like that.
“I don’t know anything – I’m just answering the question. But, as I said, coaches always want the best. Ronaldo, even at his age, is still a goal-scoring machine. In a team that creates chance after chance, he would be good.”

Club World Cup Transfer Window and Start Date
FIFA has created a special 10-day transfer window for the 32 teams participating in the Club World Cup. This short window runs from 1–10 June, giving clubs a chance to sign new players, including high-profile stars like Cristiano Ronaldo.
The tournament kicks off on 15 June across 12 stadiums in the United States, and will conclude with the final at MetLife Stadium on 13 July. In total, 63 matches will be played in the competition.
As speculation swirls, fans are eager to see whether Cristiano Ronaldo will make one more headline-grabbing move — possibly lighting up the Club World Cup stage before deciding on his long-term future.
