Piers Morgan Uses Igbo To Request Interview With Nicki Minaj On Killing Of Christians In Nigeria

British broadcaster Piers Morgan has stirred attention on social media after replying to American rapper Nicki Minaj in the Igbo language while addressing her comments about the recent killing of Christians in Nigeria.
In a post that quickly spread online, Piers Morgan wrote: “Ọ dị m ezigbo mkpa! Anyị nwere ike ime ajụjụ ọnụ?” The message translates to: “This is very important to me! Can we do an interview?”
His response was a quote tweet to Minaj, who had mentioned Morgan earlier while discussing U.S. involvement and rising concerns over violence against Christians in Nigeria.
Nicki Minaj had tweeted: “And just like that, Piers has been given clearance to fly through Barb Airspace. The power of Nigeria. 🇳🇬 Naija Barbz, keep an eye on him…”
Morgan’s decision to respond in Igbo, one of Nigeria’s major languages, sparked a wave of reactions from Nigerians online, many of whom found it surprising and amusing.
His tweet comes at a time when global attention is increasingly focused on reports of targeted attacks on Christian communities in parts of Nigeria, an issue that has drawn interest from several international figures.
