Full List Of AMVCA 2025 Winners: Freedom Way, Lisabi, And Seven Doors Lead Awards

The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) 2025 took place in Lagos, Nigeria, bringing together some of the biggest names in African film and television.
This 11th edition of the event was hosted by popular presenter IK Osakioduwa and celebrated talent across 28 different categories, including a brand-new one—Best Music Score.
One of the standout AMVCA 2025 winners was Lisabi: The Uprising, a historical drama produced by and starring Lateef Adedimeji.
The film won in three major categories: Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa), Best Art Direction, and Best Makeup. Directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, Lisabi tells the story of an Egba farmer who led a rebellion against the Alaafin of Oyo in the 1800s.
Adedimeji and his wife, actress Adebimpe Oyebade, who also played a role in the film, dedicated their wins to God and their team.
Despite its multiple wins, Lisabi missed out on the night’s biggest prize—Best Movie. That honor went to Freedom Way, a powerful action thriller directed by Afolabi Olalekan. The film tackles important issues such as corruption, police brutality, and the struggles faced by young people in Nigeria.
Another major winner was the Netflix supernatural series Seven Doors. The show took home Best Lead Actor (Femi Adebayo), Best Lead Actress (Chioma Chukwuka), and Best Music Score (Tolu Obanro). Its haunting storyline about a cursed monarch won over both fans and the jury.
Special recognition awards went to Nollywood icons Nkem Owoh and Sani Mu’azu, who both received Lifetime Achievement Awards. Director Kayode Kasum was presented with the Trailblazer Award for his impact on African filmmaking.
The night was made even more entertaining with live performances by Nigerian Idol Season 9 winner Chima, singer Johnny Drille, and viral sensations Fido, Kunmie, and Serotonin.
