PBKS vs CSK: Punjab Kings Win Toss, Choose To Bat First On Dry Pitch

Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), indicating that dew likely won’t play a major role later in the evening.
CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad admitted they were also hoping to bat first on what he described as a “dry” surface. Both teams stuck with the same playing XI, with no changes made. CSK, who are on a three-match losing streak, have already used 17 players this IPL season.
Following their recent loss to Delhi Capitals at Chepauk, CSK coach Stephen Fleming had hinted at a possible change in Gaikwad’s batting position.
However, at the toss, Gaikwad confirmed he will stay at No. 3, while New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway will continue to open. Despite a rough outing in the last game, CSK have also backed Mukesh Choudhary, who gave away 50 runs in his four overs over the weekend.
